First off the prostitute is a representation of American. That fact that she is "Stark naked" is the author showing American in its true form a nation were many men are prejudice and have terrible stereotypes on the black man. This is symbolic of the nation in which people of different creeds have to live in. Yes its a beautiful place to live just like how the author described the prostitute but in its true form some parts are terrible. This effects the overall story by showing that is a place in which the narrator has to live in
